herb). A tincture preserves the plants’ constituents at the peak of potency,
especially when using fresh herbs. Alcohol is the most active of the menstrums,
and has the ability to extract a wide range of medicinal elements while
acting as an excellent preservative.
Liquid preparations are quickly and easily assimilated into the blood stream,
are easy to swallow and convenient to take. Unlike pills or capsules which
can deteriorate quickly, tinctures are viable for up to 5 years, and require
no refrigeration.
