Rene’s Tea. “Traditional Essiac Formula.”
Herbal tea blend of organic and ethically wildharvested herbs that are
carefully dried, cut and blended in small batches according to a traditional
recipe. This widely used traditional formula originated from a Canadian
nurse in the 1920’s. This nurse, Rene Caisse, developed her formula for
‘essiac tea’ from an herbal mixture was shared by an Ontario Indian medicine
man. Caisse in turn went on to share this formula with many of her patients
and fellow health care practitioners.

Organic Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)
Organic Sheep Sorrel (Rumex acetosella)
Organic Slippery Elm Bark (Ulmus fulva)
Organic Rhubarb Root (Rheum sp.)
Preparation of half gallon (64 fl. oz.) of tea concentrate: 1) Bring one-half
gallon fresh spring water or distilled water to a hard boil in covered,
stainless steel pot. 2) Add 2 oz (one-half of the 4 oz. container) of
Rene’s tea and stir with a stainless steel utensil and cover. 3) Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. 4) Remove from heat and stir. Cover and let sit for 12 hours. 5) stir, reheat until it almost boils (DO NOT MICROWAVE) and remove from heat. 6) Using stainless steel utensils, strain through a fine mesh strainer. Funnel liquid into clean amber glass bottles while hot. Tighten caps after cooling. REFRIGERATE. The concentrate lasts for two weeks.
This container makes a total of one gallon of liquid tea concentrate.
For freshness, the instructions are written for a half gallon using 2 oz.
of herbal tea blend.
Directions for use: Shake herbal tea concentrate to mix well. Boil 4
fl. oz. of fresh spring water or distilled water. Add 4 fl. oz. of the
previously prepared tea concentrate to water. Drink once daily on an empty
stomach. Preferable before bedtime. Drink warm or cold. Note: Do not
use aluminum or copper pot, strainers or utensils when preparing tea.
Contraindications: Individuals with a history of kidney stones should
use this tea cautiously. Discontinue use in the event of diarrhea or watery
stools. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
Discontinue if unusual symptoms occur.
